Martha Hartfiel

Martha Hartfiel blends legal, organizational, and research skills to deliver winning results in complex environments.  Trained as both a lawyer and an archeologist, she’s not afraid to get her hands dirty if that’s what it takes to bring about an innovative solution.  Martha was largely responsible for creating the network of sixty-five groundwater biologists and other specialists across the Great Lakes Basin which gave the Freshwater Foundation the science and the credentials to develop and implement cooperative solutions to critical groundwater issues.  More recently she has guided a leading edge energy company in the complex legal, technology, and business challenges in bringing biomass based fuels to market.

A graduate of Dartmouth College and the University Of Minnesota Law School, Martha is active in selecting candidates for the Dartmouth Board of Trustees and is a member of the Board of Directors for Walker Methodist.
